The Center is powered by a vibrant community of volunteers who generously lend their time, dedication, and passion for many different roles within our non-profit organization. We have a small employee staff of five people providing specific services to each client and resident. It is only possible to fulfill our mission with the help of our volunteers.
Our volunteers help provide support services to people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. People who receive services are more likely to stay in treatment for HIV and less likely to progress to AIDS. People in treatment are better able to suppress their viral loads are much less likely to spread the virus.
We’re always on the lookout for caring, kind, friendly people to help provide great customer service and an outstanding experience within our building.
Volunteer Opportunities
Kitchen Helpers
No experience necessary! Whether ready to take on Bobby Flay or masters of microwave cooking, our kitchen volunteers create delicious and nutritious meals for our clients and residents. Under the direction of our professional chef, volunteers work in shifts, either 9:00am - 1:00pm or 1:00pm - 4:00pm.

Receptionist / Client Intake
Our receptionists volunteer their time in three hour shifts, either 10:00am - 1:00pm or 1:00pm - 4:00pm, Monday - Friday. Their smiling faces greet our clients and residents, document services provided, and hand them hygiene supply bags, dry food goods and meals. Our team of receptionists are laser focused on making sure our clients and residents feel loved and welcomed, comfortable and secure within our space, and getting them what they need.
Pantry Room / Hygiene Room Organizers
Our pantry and hygiene volunteers organize supplies donated by our generous community. They also fill bags with supplies that are given to our clients and residents. No experience needed and the work can be accomplished any time, Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 4:00 pm.

Pick Up Donations
Pick Up Donations - Volunteers are needed pick up donations on scheduled days. Donations are made on a regular basis by local businesses and restaurants.
Event Volunteer Opportunities
One third of The Center’s budget is comprised of community donations, and each year, we host multiple fundraising events, such as our bike ride, AIDS walk, and Center a la Carte, as well as several giving events, such as resident BBQ and Christmas gift program. Many of these events are large scale fundraisers that require dozens of volunteers to help with event planning and logistics.
The Center Square Thrift Shop
Volunteers perform various duties in everyday operations of the Thrift Shop.
The Center Square Thrift Shop is located at 800 Main St., Belmar, NJ 07719. Its hours of operation are Tuesday - Saturday, 10 - 5. Please call 848-404-9922 if you are interested in volunteering.
