The Center in Asbury Park, Inc., is a volunteer based not-for-profit service organization, providing support services for people living with HIV/AIDS and their care givers. The Center offers its clients and volunteers a safe haven in order to instill a sense of community and stability in their lives. The Center fulfills its mission by providing the following services:
Housing Programs: Center House, a permanent residence for 25 individuals living with HIV/AIDS; emergency placement for homeless individuals; rental and utility subsidies in order to prevent homelessness
Nutrition Programs: emergency food and nutrition pantry; meals-to-go, frozen home-cooked meals; a daily lunch program; monthly Sunday dinners
Referral Services: empowering clients by providing connection to other service providers and programs
Transportation Services: provide transportation for medical and other needs
Education: lecture and other forums for clients, staff and volunteers
Holiday Outreach Programs: including Thanksgiving food baskets and Christmas gilts for clients of The Center and residents of Center House
So many of the clients of The Center struggle to make ends meet - to put some food on the table - to have some basic things that we can so easily take for granted. Each client is entitled to a monthly emergency "food bag" with some of the basics they are not able to get with food stamps.
Our pantry shelves are kept full due to the generosity of many. Schools and places of worship hold food drives, neighborhoods and clubs collect products for us.

Our hygiene shelves are kept full due to the generosity of many. Schools and places of worship hold hygiene drives, people traveling are in the habit of putting the hotel hygiene products in their suitcases for us, neighborhoods and clubs collect products for us.
On weekends, the resident's meals are cooked by Volunteer visiting chefs. At this time we are reaching out to individuals, families, youth groups, school clubs, churches, and temples to help us out.
We average about 10 residents that come down to the dining room for dinner. (Saturday 4:30-5:30 and Sunday 4:00-5:00).
Chef Karen can help with ordering the meal you would like to serve. Please contact Chef Karen at The Center 732-774-3416 x115
Meals to Go
Our Meals-to-Go Program provides home cooked frozen meals to folks who are living in motels and rooming houses and have no kitchen access.
We are asking individuals and groups to help us to fill our freezer shelves all year long. The Center will provide you with microwavable containers to fill with good food and a lot of love!
